Text Box: I have put together a web site dedicated to my love and passion...music. I created it myself  mainly because I want it to look and feel "homemade" not generic. To me the whole point of being an independent artist in today's technological wonder world is to use the great resources available and to be creative in every way possible. Take a chance! Stick your neck out and don't be afraid of being different and hearing some criticism. The site is a work in progress but it contains the most important ingredient, the music. It mainly consists of my 3 CD's along with new and old songs I recorded on my first 4-track, ADATs and computer.  In time I want to do some other creative things on the site but for now I will focus mainly on the songs I have written an recorded. Being an independent artist it is important to me to hear your comments, suggestions and feedback so let me know what you think. If you like the tunes and enjoy the site mention it to a friend or family member. The site will grow as time goes on. I'll be documenting  a first hand account of the ups and downs of an independent artist trying to make it in the music biz.                                                            In my music. I sound like Ian Anderson of “Yes” and look like Bob  

                                                           Dylan so they say! My biggest influence  has been The Beatles and a    

                                                           couple hundred others. I take a “White Album” approach to my music 

                                                           in that I try not to get stuck in a particular sound or approach. I try to   

                                                           make every song sound different from the last. I’m all about a good      

                                                           melody, a hook and  the feel of a song. I’ve been a lead singer, front

                                                           man all my life so I have developed my own style, approach to sing-

                                                           ing. I’m not a “lyrics” kind of guy in the sense that I don’t try to save

                                                           the world or delve into your dark deep psyche when I write. I’m pret-  

                                                           ty  straight forward, get it done and move on. I like to create pictures,   

                                                           ideas, make you think and then let you take it where you wanna go.   

                                                           I’m one of those artists who does his own thing. I don’t what I think the record companies want to hear or follow the latest trends. It’s my music first then I’ll present it to the world. To me it’s about an idea, a good ‘lick’ or melody and going with it. I then put my heart n soul into it. If I’m happy I figure someone else will too. I get a lot of positive feedback from my music and I love doing it so I keep making more. I’m up to about 135 songs now so I’m sure there’s something here you’ll like. Enjoy and please let me know what you think….Robert Paul
